Huawei has just announced a new tablet from its popular MatePad series earlier today (6th August 2024). The latest model is a fresh variant in the MatePad Air lineup, bringing improved specifications and a taller display over the previous generation.
Huawei MatePad Air 2024 Specs
To recall, the last gen MatePad Air was announced back in May 2023. Now, its successor has also been released with various upgrades. It arrives with a premium all metal design that weighs just 555 grams and an ultra slim 5.9mm body. These materials use corrosion resistant materials to make them resistant to hand sweat. There is also a Soft Light Edition that features anti glare eye protection and promises to offer a paper like writing experience from its screen. The screen features a 144Hz refresh rate, 2.8K resolution, P3 wide color gamut, 3:2 aspect ratio, up to 1000 nits of peak brightness, and HDR.
The Chinese tech giant employs nano etching technology with nano magnetic coating to offer soft light eye protection and eliminate 99 percent of the ambient interference light on the surface of the laptop. Simply put, Huawei aimed to offer a comfortable viewing experience on the MatePad Air, which comes with support for the Huawei M-Pencial (3rd Gen) and Star Flash keyboard. The company even marketed the tablet to users with a creative spark in video teasers. A massive 10,100mAh battery pack powers this tablet, which supports 66W wired fast charging. It is equipped with the Kirin 9000W SoC.
Pricing and Availability
Huawei’s MatePad Air 2024 model was announced in multiple color options, which include pink, green, white, and gray. It was announced in multiple storage configurations as well, so here is their pricing:
- 8GB + 256GB – 2,999 Yuan (roughly 420 US Dollars)
- 12GB + 256GB – 3,299 Yuan (roughly 462 US Dollars)
- 12GB + 256GB Soft Light – 3,599 Yuan (roughly 504 US Dollars)
- 12GB + 512GB Soft Light – 3,999 Yuan (roughly 560 US Dollars)
The MatePad Air is currently on presale in China, with the first sale set to kick off on 13th August 2024. Buyers can also purchase this tablet with the Huawei Care+ for an additional fee.
